Having a good skincare routine

Image
So not sure if I will complete this blog today as it is the evening, but I doing my skincare for the evening, inspired me to write this blog. I have always had to take care of my skin because it can get very dry and I have sensitive skin, and so have to careful with what I use.  I have to moisturise on a daily basis as my face feels rough when I don't, and my feet because I walk a lot. Can anyone identify this? I never pay a fortune on skincare, but use what pleases my skin and I like looking after my skin. It so nice in the evening to put cream on my face and body, because it sets up my evening and in the morning. In the morning I mainly look after my face, and I use Nivea and Boots spray mist, or my Nivea cream before I put on some make up.  As a kid I would do some kind of skincare because the one item we used to use was soap, but this really effected my skin, and this time of year, as I write this in Autumn of 2022 my hands start to dry up because of using washing up liqui...

My love of writing

Image
As a writer there are many things that can stand in your way to write a book and that is, will my book be good enough? Is my Grammar okay? because I don't currently have an editor so I do it all on my own, and it can be tough. Yet, I seek help by reading other peoples books.  It also can be hard to juggle, but I do it for me my love and means so much to me, and glad I have the skill to write, and connect with others through it. I want my writing to inspire and to be on many a book shelf and enjoy them, as much as I like writing them.  I set my self goals, and I do 6 edits on my books before they are ready to be published and it for me helps me to do bit by bit in tidying and creating a book which I feel good about and what my readers would like from my books.  Making sure they make sense that they are easy to read and enough to keep my readers reading and not put it in the bin. I love writing different genres, that talks about real issues in the society we live in now and...

In a life of a Writer/Always on the go/Dealing with Bad luck/Trains being delayed

Image
Hello and welcome to a new blog. It has been a while but I have been posting daily blogs, please check these out:  https://mydailythougthsandfeelings.blogspot.com/ In a life of a writer is not doing the same things over and over again, as this is boring, but doing different things, like reading books written by other people, working on writing as I travel back and forwards, and going out and grabbing a coffee on the go. I always make sure I have a notebook to hand and love coming up with book ideas and going through my blogs and today I got some really good feedback and go 1000 likes on my blog: everyonecanbuildacastle.com It is so rewarding to see my work being liked by people that I haven't met but wish I could and hug them all. Life is about building upon on what you already have in your life that is good and getting through the bad. This morning the trains were delayed and when this happens, it makes you think "What should I do now?" "Should I stay put or should ...

Finding the time to write

Image
When it comes to writing I do it in batches and this is because of thinking what way the book is going to go and what I need to tie up the story.  In the morning I will go through the blogs I have to write and the videos I need to film and then even if is ten minutes to spare to work on my books then I do.  I do have a diary that I use to plan my writing and specifically on the book I am writing and do sprints, and what I have often done is set a timer. Thank the lord for mobiles phones and android as I have a stop watch on my phone and I live by my mobile.  Right now I am beginning the writing of this blog and it is 6th January at 9:30am and so once this is done then going through what I need to do that is jotted down but to do so I can concentrate on working on my books, and if you need to have a start up in your writing to do it regularly I would say is to have a blog as it is what inspired me or spend time writing notes of ideas to write about with a old fashion pen a...

Managing my writing during Christmas

Image
I will often take time out and I did try Blogmas one year but it was too much in the end, so this year I am going to be writing but as we lead to the festive day of cheer be doing little amounts of writing, and still get my blogs, videos filmed and writing of my books.  This year I decided to take it slow this year and going to put together a writing plan for over Christmas as I will be spending it with my son as his dad is working through it but hope that Henry can still spend time with his dad if not on the day but afterwards. it means juggling and getting a balance to my responsibilities. This is what Christmas means, catching up  with family. I know with the new COVID news it may not be possible to see all my family but find a way to still keep in contact.  Spending time with my son is precious and want to give him everlasting memeries and it means putting my writing on hold and getting my priorities right and making sure we get a lot of time together even if it is sh...

How I plan my days leading up to Christmas as a writer

Image
So, I feel a bit like "Hang on" is it really coming to that season again? And wish I had a lullipop stick and be a lollipop lady or a man, to says STOP, it driving to fast, and I trying to catch up. I do love Christmas again, but this time of year I start to plan for next year and skip Christmas, but I can't ignore it as I do have gifts to buy and then there is Christmas Cards, and when it comes to those, I am useless, I never get my Christmas cards out on time.  I am not sure I will be sending Christmas cards this year, so thinking of doing something different, and send a box with a label saying Merry Christmas and put in some chocolates. I do have a set of self built boxes so gonna pick some up and be good to use these and still send a Christmas message. As a writer I do schedule my writing and use the build up to inspire me, and give me ideas of content and do set myself goals for Christmas like next year, I want to have a book telling a Christmas story. I set time to ...

Belief in yourself when you've had a bad day and things not going to plan

Image
Hello and welcome! It is great when everything fits into place and you have had less tantrums of your own and your children, if you have kids, and feels good to look at ourselves and say "Today was a blast" yet there are those days when it is not. When things keep on going wrong, which makes your belief in yourself goes down, and our expectation goes up.  It can knock your confidence and feel "I am such a stupid person, why didn't I do this or that" but we aren't robots and is real life,.  When you have children and they kick off throughout the day, and being caught out in the rain, and wearing the wrong coats or shoes etc and you get and they get soaked, and like today taking my son to Kingston it was chocker and too many people but all was better when we found a place less packed with people and got the train without issues aswell. Yet my son begins to refuse to wear his coat, and has a daily strop, over something like not being able to be nearer to the tr...
