In a life of a Writer/Always on the go/Dealing with Bad luck/Trains being delayed

In a life of a writer is not doing the same things over and over again, as this is boring, but doing different things, like reading books written by other people, working on writing as I travel back and forwards, and going out and grabbing a coffee on the go. I always make sure I have a notebook to hand and love coming up with book ideas and going through my blogs and today I got some really good feedback and go 1000 likes on my blog: everyonecanbuildacastle.com

It is so rewarding to see my work being liked by people that I haven't met but wish I could and hug them all. Life is about building upon on what you already have in your life that is good and getting through the bad. This morning the trains were delayed and when this happens, it makes you think "What should I do now?" "Should I stay put or should I go and get a bus or see if there is a taxi" and felt stranded. Yet it all worked out. 

I hate being late and today I had an appointment and thankfully get there on time but when you get bad luck it makes me think "What else is next?", "What else can go wrong?" and "What if this continues the trains being delayed?". Thankfully I can get the bus and will be doing this for the rest of the week, just in case the trains continue to be a nightmare. 

So as a writer you often have to take your tools with you, and work on the go, doing the school run and getting from A to B can be hard work but you do it, as delays will always be there and scheduling is the key and being prepared of delays and bad luck. 

I take with me, 

  • A pencil case 
  • Small notebook
  • A4 Notebook 
And going to take my open dated diary with me too, and spend time whilst I wait for my son to return  from school and after he is picked up, do some writing, and take time to sit in a coffee shop and write.

Finding the time to write

When it comes to writing I do it in batches and this is because of thinking what way the book is going to go and what I need to tie up the story.  In the morning I will go through the blogs I have to write and the videos I need to film and then even if is ten minutes to spare to work on my books then I do.  I do have a diary that I use to plan my writing and specifically on the book I am writing and do sprints, and what I have often done is set a timer. Thank the lord for mobiles phones and android as I have a stop watch on my phone and I live by my mobile.  Right now I am beginning the writing of this blog and it is 6th January at 9:30am and so once this is done then going through what I need to do that is jotted down but to do so I can concentrate on working on my books, and if you need to have a start up in your writing to do it regularly I would say is to have a blog as it is what inspired me or spend time writing notes of ideas to write about with a old fashion pen and paper. The right environment to get writing

When it comes to writing it is finding the time where you can sit down have a podcast on or some music and go through what you have written and what is left to write. I am currently working on a new book and I find writing in the mornings hard, so have been writing in the afternoon and in the evening.  It is not always possible to write at that time because I go over to wait for my son to return from school, so before I leave to get to his dads house I will do some writing and in the evening.  I can't decide if I am a morning person or a night owl, because I do like to get up early but I find it hard and now the clocks have changed in the UK it is taking me a while to adjust to that time change, but do like the lighter mornings and evenings, so soon I will be able to do some writing in the garden and be good to be outdoors with the sunshine.  Find a good location to write can really make a difference and can really help with ideas for books and reading in the park. Getting in the mood to write

Being a mum you never know what the week will bring, and so finding time to write can often be tricky. I use the mornings and evenings, because I don't want to be taking my laptop over to where my son lives because I don't like to carry too much.  I schedule and before I begin play some music and watch Youtube on writing and so setting the scene is the first tip I'd give.  With writing I will get spontaneous moments to write and vision myself doing so and develop a story gives me such a buzz and it is like a jigsaw to me and so when I get the urge to write I will make sure I jot it down in that moment and as I go through the story I will use file cards or write it down, and plot and think of different ideas.  Deciding on a time to write can be a challenge, and so planning the week and time can make a difference, and so go through your schedule and use it as me time, and doing sprints like ten minutes a good way to get into the mood and challenge yourself of how much you can
