Writing on When Kids return to school and best way to schedule your writing

If you to write blog and books, you need that time to yourself, and it is all about routine and flexibility. 

When you write is up to you, and doing the school drop off, rather than pick up, will give me a whole day still to write and anything else required. 


I will be bringing some writing with me and create a school run travel bag, with bits to do my work and make up bag, to do make up at old home, to be with my son, before he is taken to school.

You don't have to do much in terms of writing, ten minutes is still getting it done and remember to always take a notepad and pens with you, so you can write whilst on the go. The school run can be stressful, but once you get used to the routing you find that everything else eventually does fit in. 

This week as it is the first of the school, my son's dad has taken him, but next week it will be me there, and the school is not as close as his school he went before, but hopefully the school will provide travel for my son to be their in the morning and then bring him back after school home. 

I find getting ready for the day after he has been picked up, time to put my make up on and so the first thing I do when getting up during school time, is put clothes on and then everything can be done once I gone to look after my son, and then as said, doing my make up and writing afterwards. 

During the school year, time can go so quickly but never allow that to stop you and have faith in yourself. 

You breaze through once you have gotten into it and become part of the routine. 

Make a schedule for everyday living and for when doing the school run.

Finding the time to write

When it comes to writing I do it in batches and this is because of thinking what way the book is going to go and what I need to tie up the story.  In the morning I will go through the blogs I have to write and the videos I need to film and then even if is ten minutes to spare to work on my books then I do.  I do have a diary that I use to plan my writing and specifically on the book I am writing and do sprints, and what I have often done is set a timer. Thank the lord for mobiles phones and android as I have a stop watch on my phone and I live by my mobile.  Right now I am beginning the writing of this blog and it is 6th January at 9:30am and so once this is done then going through what I need to do that is jotted down but to do so I can concentrate on working on my books, and if you need to have a start up in your writing to do it regularly I would say is to have a blog as it is what inspired me or spend time writing notes of ideas to write about with a old fashion pen and paper. The right environment to get writing

When it comes to writing it is finding the time where you can sit down have a podcast on or some music and go through what you have written and what is left to write. I am currently working on a new book and I find writing in the mornings hard, so have been writing in the afternoon and in the evening.  It is not always possible to write at that time because I go over to wait for my son to return from school, so before I leave to get to his dads house I will do some writing and in the evening.  I can't decide if I am a morning person or a night owl, because I do like to get up early but I find it hard and now the clocks have changed in the UK it is taking me a while to adjust to that time change, but do like the lighter mornings and evenings, so soon I will be able to do some writing in the garden and be good to be outdoors with the sunshine.  Find a good location to write can really make a difference and can really help with ideas for books and reading in the park. Getting in the mood to write

Being a mum you never know what the week will bring, and so finding time to write can often be tricky. I use the mornings and evenings, because I don't want to be taking my laptop over to where my son lives because I don't like to carry too much.  I schedule and before I begin play some music and watch Youtube on writing and so setting the scene is the first tip I'd give.  With writing I will get spontaneous moments to write and vision myself doing so and develop a story gives me such a buzz and it is like a jigsaw to me and so when I get the urge to write I will make sure I jot it down in that moment and as I go through the story I will use file cards or write it down, and plot and think of different ideas.  Deciding on a time to write can be a challenge, and so planning the week and time can make a difference, and so go through your schedule and use it as me time, and doing sprints like ten minutes a good way to get into the mood and challenge yourself of how much you can
