What gives me so much pleasure

I love books which is important for someone who writes, but in bed. I sleep with them books because it is good company and I can put it down whenever I want until the next day. I have always loved reading. The best book as a kid was Lion the witch and the wardrobe, only that I thought the little girl was given Turkish Delight but its not, its her brother, to turn him against his sister.

I have had breaks from reading, but now 47 going onto 48, I read without question in the morning and the evening and its starts the day on a high and ends on a high. 

There are books that I have found hard to read. I had a book called It Takes Two and just can't get into it so will be getting rid. It is rare for me. My style of reading has changed. I no longer worry about getting an image but is easy to read and I understand the story rather then picturing what is going on.

Then it is pottering around the home, putting clothes away. I do a bit of dusting and cleaning and today cleaned the Living room floor. I am not a lover of cleaning as such but like the result once it is done. I feel I work better when I have a tidy space.

Walking. I continuing in this blog, popped out and left when my husband left for work and it was the best time to walk and had a coffee and a croissant and not all the shops were open which is good as I didn't want to wait and got the shopping I needed for dinners and would have walked back home but the bottom of my foot was hurting so got the bus back so may wear a different pair of shoes and hopefully can wear sandals instead. 

I like to walk up London and along the river. It gives me so much joy. I do use the treadmill but not a lot and love the outdoors and being with nature.

Writing on When Kids return to school and best way to schedule your writing

If you to write blog and books, you need that time to yourself, and it is all about routine and flexibility.  When you write is up to you, and doing the school drop off, rather than pick up, will give me a whole day still to write and anything else required.  I will be bringing some writing with me and create a school run travel bag, with bits to do my work and make up bag, to do make up at old home, to be with my son, before he is taken to school. You don't have to do much in terms of writing, ten minutes is still getting it done and remember to always take a notepad and pens with you, so you can write whilst on the go. The school run can be stressful, but once you get used to the routing you find that everything else eventually does fit in.  This week as it is the first of the school, my son's dad has taken him, but next week it will be me there, and the school is not as close as his school he went before, but hopefully the school will provide travel for my son to be th...

Writing during the School Summer Holidays

It is coming up to the last weeks of the School Summer Holidays, and fitting in writing has been not that tricky, but when I haven't written for most of the day, I get itchy fingers.  Being a mum and a writer of blogs and books and setting up online courses and videos too, it has to be on hold and have gotten used to it.  Being a mum I don't mind putting my writing on hold, and I do what I can and use the evenings and if I get up early enough, in the mornings aswell.  This does include planning and settting out time, gettng earlier than usual and using what time I have. I do write myself lists and go through what I would like to write to what I want to get done first. Usually it is writing or finishing off a blog post and then working on my books.  I like to write one comedy, one serious novel and a self help or a biographical type book.  It is fitting around planned activities and events.
