Finding The Space to write

 I don't really have a base. I do have a desk but I prefer to use the dining table or when in bed using a couple of pillows on my bed to write on my laptop. Or I will sit down on the sofa and when cooking I will set up my laptop to watch a bit of Youtube and if something comes to my mind I can type it up and this is even a blog, book, uploading a vlog and just use the space available. 



When at the Library I will write by hand. I am working on book series at the moment and I love the way it is going, even though it is based on a serious topic of neglect and unhappiness and editing book 1 and writing 1,000 words day on the second book. 

Some writers like to have a space where they will always use when writing, but I get restless so go on based on how I feel and what will help me to be productive and will often listen to a playlist that I have created for my book. For me it is getting into the right mindset. I don't really plan what I write. I will do notes along the way, but just like to get started, making sure I'm taking breaks. 

Then there is schedule. I am not good at going by a set a plan, as I can then feel "No I don't want to do that today" and so I will write in the mornings, write snippets at the weekends as we are, myself and my son, often out. My son has many sports clubs and he loves going on trains and bus rides. 

My son is now going to a school. He has a placement and so once he starts it will free up more time. I will still be writing on my laptop and by hand. I am ending something off my schedule as I feel a little bit clogged up and not have so much to focus on. 

Also I am moving so this is going to take some time, to sort this out from not working at the weekends all the time and love working life as I like casual work.

It is good to have some kind of set up, but use the space I have and make sure I am hydrated and in comfy clothes.

Writing on When Kids return to school and best way to schedule your writing

If you to write blog and books, you need that time to yourself, and it is all about routine and flexibility.  When you write is up to you, and doing the school drop off, rather than pick up, will give me a whole day still to write and anything else required.  I will be bringing some writing with me and create a school run travel bag, with bits to do my work and make up bag, to do make up at old home, to be with my son, before he is taken to school. You don't have to do much in terms of writing, ten minutes is still getting it done and remember to always take a notepad and pens with you, so you can write whilst on the go. Writing during the School Summer Holidays

It is coming up to the last weeks of the School Summer Holidays, and fitting in writing has been not that tricky, but when I haven't written for most of the day, I get itchy fingers.  Being a mum and a writer of blogs and books and setting up online courses and videos too, it has to be on hold and have gotten used to it.  Being a mum I don't mind putting my writing on hold, and I do what I can and use the evenings and if I get up early enough, in the mornings aswell.  This does include planning and settting out time, gettng earlier than usual and using what time I have. I do write myself lists and go through what I would like to write to what I want to get done first. Usually it is writing or finishing off a blog post and then working on my books.  I like to write one comedy, one serious novel and a self help or a biographical type book.  It is fitting around planned activities and events.
