A Simple Day indoors

Yesterday was a good day. Don't be fooled I have had bad days in my life, like we all have, but when it is good day, I acknowledge and praise that I feel someone is watching over me. I accept that everyone's views are different, but for me I am going for Simplicity this year. My word that I stand for and my word for the year is "Grow" and want to spend time helping myself and my sons education and needs, so a day indoors was just what I needed.

Well we both needed. We today are out but it is good to not have somewhere, where we need to be and so it is good to just chill and I didn't sit down all day. I cleaned the kitchen, dusted and did a workout and did lunch, dinner and then went to bed early and feel good that I had that time.

It is good to catch up on chores. We had a simple dinner and relaxed. We watched some football and we played football during the day and I am grateful for what I have and so is good to stop in and make the most of the indoors. 

Yes it is good to go out. I have shared how I love to walk and that has not changed. I like to explore, but just and I am still going to build my steps, have visits up London but it is good to be in my nest and still get jobs done, but indoors. 

It made me use up some food. Not that we binged but I had pancakes to eat, sausages and pasta and so my son and I had a cook breakfast, which we don't always have. He and his dad had a sandwich for lunch, I had pancakes and then had pasta for dinner and so used my time to my advantage. I am not a fan of cleaning but I did it and I liked the result and it felt good to see my kitchen tops, sink and windowsill clean. Sweeping the floor in Living room and dusted and so it was time worth spent.

I did some of my BBC Maestro course, had my first no spend day of the year as I am doing No Spend January and put money into my savings and it is good to catch up and I suppose a reset.

So yes a good day but today we are out and off on a bus ride. Our second for 2026.

Writing on When Kids return to school and best way to schedule your writing

If you to write blog and books, you need that time to yourself, and it is all about routine and flexibility.  When you write is up to you, and doing the school drop off, rather than pick up, will give me a whole day still to write and anything else required.  I will be bringing some writing with me and create a school run travel bag, with bits to do my work and make up bag, to do make up at old home, to be with my son, before he is taken to school. You don't have to do much in terms of writing, ten minutes is still getting it done and remember to always take a notepad and pens with you, so you can write whilst on the go. Writing during the School Summer Holidays

It is coming up to the last weeks of the School Summer Holidays, and fitting in writing has been not that tricky, but when I haven't written for most of the day, I get itchy fingers.  Being a mum and a writer of blogs and books and setting up online courses and videos too, it has to be on hold and have gotten used to it.  Being a mum I don't mind putting my writing on hold, and I do what I can and use the evenings and if I get up early enough, in the mornings aswell.  This does include planning and settting out time, gettng earlier than usual and using what time I have. I do write myself lists and go through what I would like to write to what I want to get done first. Usually it is writing or finishing off a blog post and then working on my books.  I like to write one comedy, one serious novel and a self help or a biographical type book.  It is fitting around planned activities and events.
